River Rock Foundation

While the front of the house features pretty lattice-work on the foundation, the back portion of the foundation is sadly bare. One inexpensive and fun solution is to hot-glue river stones on the foundation. A 99 cent bag of river stones from Hobby Lobby was enough to cover the bare portions of the foundation, with plenty to spare. It felt like working on a narrow jigsaw puzzle, trying to find the right stones to fit perfectly ...

Your foundation is great. I wish we had Hobby Lobby in Norway, it`s seems like many of you find nice things there.

Yay, you are back! I began building a Garfield too in February and have found your blog interesting to read. I also have a blog on the garfield now as well and are recording my progress as you have. The riverstones look nice. I too wish we had a hobby lobby in New Zealand as so many people buy supplied from there that I can't find here at all. How are you going with your paper clay bricks?

I love the look but always thought using stones make the structure heavy. Then again, the dollhouse is already heavy so what's another few kg, right?

The paper clay bricks are not progressing as fast as I would hope. There is a little one on the way, and I have been so tired...but my leave from work starts in a week, and I will embark on a mad rush to finish bricking the dollhouse before the November due date :)...wish me luck!
